COMMISSARY

Keefe is our new commissary distributor for the Simpson County Detention Center.  Commissary is provided once a week to all inmates in the Simpson County Detention Center.  That day is on Thursday of every week unless we have to reschedule due to the holidays.  The List of items that can be purchased include everything from personal hygiene, snacks, soft drinks, soups, underwear, socks, t-shirts, sweat pants and shirts, writing paper, pens, pencils, stamped envelopes, etc.  Any commissary profit goes towards the purchase of recreation equipment, televisions and games for all of the inmates housed in this facility.  If there is any money left on their account and they do not owe on any old signed release contracts, then if applicable, a check will be made out to them for their remaining amount.  If no front office staff member is here to make out the check, then the inmate can either come back on a day that a staff member is here or the check will be mailed out to their forwarding address that they leave before being released.
